Detailed explanation of design conception
1、 The title and theme of the lotus flower of the Tang Dynasty are as follows
1. Tang Dynasty
The creative elements and Inspiration of this sculpture come from Buddhism and architecture in the prosperous Tang Dynasty. The prosperous Tang Dynasty is the most prosperous Dynasty of Buddhism in China, with a large number of eminent monks and influence on the world. According to the local legend, Dayun temple was crowned by the empress, and the seventh ancestor of Zen Buddhism was shown to open a sliding platform to preach scriptures, and the Dayun Prajna Paramita sutra was opened, creating a landmark place for Southern Zen to spread to the north.
2. Dayun
Dayun temple was formerly known as Mingfu temple. After Empress Wu Zetian ascended the throne, 2000 eminent monks were sent from Chang'an and Luoyang to preach Dayun Scripture in temples all over the country. Dayun temple was built everywhere to preach Dayun Scripture. Since then, Mingfu temple has been renamed Dayun temple.
3. Lianhua
In ancient Chinese, "Hua" is connected with "Hua", and "Hua" is more beautiful, which is consistent with the unique and innovative spirit of the empress of the prosperous Tang Dynasty. Therefore, the name and theme of this sculpture is Dayun Lianhua in the prosperous Tang Dynasty.

2、 Dayun Jing
The Dayun Sutra tells a story: Jingguang tiannv once heard the great Nirvana Sutra in the same-sex lamp Buddha. Later, When Sakyamuni Buddha was alive, she was born into the world as a mortal child and heard the profound meaning of Buddhism again. Although she was a woman, she later became a king and gained a quarter of the territory under the command of the Runner King. She also educated the urban and rural men, women, old and young, ruled out all kinds of evil ideas and dissent, and widely engaged in the cause of Bodhisattva. After Bodhisattva became supreme, the Buddha begged for food one day. A naughty girl grabbed a handful of sand and ran to put it into Shizun's bowl. Shizun was happy to accept it, but his disciples didn't see it much. So he asked Shizun, "why do you accept the support of sand for such a rude and naughty woman?" Shizun said: "this woman will become the king of the East Sinian kingdom in the next life. If I leave seeds of resentment in her heart in this life, I will destroy my sect in the next life. I will accept the support of sand, and she will protect the spread of Buddhism."
After Wu Zetian ascended the throne and became emperor, she was opposed by the dominant ideology of the traditional patriarchal society. She learned that there was a revelation and record of Buddha in Dayun Jing, and Longyan was very happy. She also said that the blessing was due to the three small stones given by the Buddha in the previous life. Dayun temple was set up all over the country to teach Dayun Jing and convey the boundless merits of giving.

The position and size of the sculpture
The height of the sculpture is 9 meters, the square side length of the red sandstone platform is 18 meters, the side length of the square fence is 9 meters, the height of the fence is 0.6 meters, the height of the Tang style lotus column head railing is 0.9 meters, and the side length of the innermost square Lotus base is 3 meters. The material is red sandstone square platform, white marble railing, white marble sculpture and gilt copper lotus.

The boundless world of Wanbang in the prosperous Tang Dynasty
The double square red sandstone platform has a side length of 12 meters, implying that the four seas are visible and boundless, and the prosperous Tang Dynasty is coming.
The good relationship between the empress of the supreme royal system in the ninth five year plan and Shizun
The double-layer nine grade lotus base symbolizes the supreme imperial system of the ninth five year plan, the fingered Buddha and the golden lotus, and the good relationship between Shizun and Empress Wu Zetian.
The Prajna flower of outer square and inner circle
The inner circle and the outer side of the Tang Dynasty style nine grade lotus column head railings mean that people are tolerant in their hearts, they are mellow to others, and they are strict with themselves.
The auspicious clouds and perfume sea of Zen's dry landscape design
Taking into account the climate characteristics of less rain and drought in northern China, the dry landscape design technique of Zen Buddhism, which started in the Tang Dynasty and flourished in Japan, is adopted. In the daytime, inside the square fence and outside the circular fence, the relief scene of big auspicious clouds is presented. To the night scene, the lake blue lighting camp creates the mood of the perfume sea.
